The Florida Schola Cantorum
We began in the spring of 2008. We sing chant and music from the polyphonic treasury of the Church. We are centered in Gainesville, FL. We promote Gregorian chant and the traditional polyphonic repertoire of the Catholic Church. We do so:
- by offering educational activities and by singing public performances;
- by sponsoring educational activities and public performances.
Our ongoing activities include singing regularly at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala, FL.
Current repertoire includes

Masses by Palestrina, Stolzer, Tallis
- Selected motets on Proper and other texts.

About the Director
Edward Schaefer has over 40 years of experience in choral music and chant. He is an ordained deacon in the Church and currently serves as associate dean of the college of Fine Arts at the University of Florida.
